Hair longing

I love having long hair. Throughout my childhood, my mum has always forced me to cut my hair each time it reached my shoulders. It was only during secondary school that I was allowed to grow it out. I’ve always feel more confident and comfortable with long hair. However, last December, I was feeling a little bored with the same, boring hairstyle and decided to cut it. I basically chopped off my hair which at the time was about 2 inches below my shoulder to a short bob cut above my chin. I liked it at first.

Now, my hair’s grown to reach my shoulders. I have to admit that I’m starting to miss my long hair. I looked very different and some days I’m still not used to seeing myself with short hair. I miss being able to curl it and tie it. I loved tying my hair up in french braids and even just a ponytail. It’s quite enlightening how losing something makes you appreciate it even more. Or perhaps as usual when it comes to humans, we’re simply never satisfied with what we have.

In case you missed it, I’m longing for my long hair.

  2. Hehe my mom is the opposite – I would always want to cut my hair to shoulder length but she wanted me to grow it long and she would talk about how when she was my age her hair went all the way down her back and everyone would compliment her

  3. Completely with you there; I am launched into an identity crisis is my hair isn’t long enough to get trapped in car doors as they shut. Hair length is a defining feature! 😁😁😁

  4. I agree with ALL that you said about long hair! And my mum was similar to yours as well! But recently, I felt quite bored and got it cut. They were almost waist length and now rest a little below my below my shoulders and So Far i like it..it is so free and there are no hassles and everything

      1. Yeah I anticipated that. So i think I’m just gonna keep cutting them until I am so fed up of short hair that I grow them long for good!
        The length that is slightly longer than shoulder length is so irritating for me🙈
