Book haul

There was a small book fair at my university today and I was finally able to buy two books that I’ve been longing to read. I’m excited to read them and post some reviews about the books! Sneak peek for future posts: Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli and Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum.

It’s been such a long time since I last bought books because there aren’t any bookshops in the vicinity. It’s tragic really, and there aren’t any shopping malls here as well. The nearest mall and bookshop is in another town. It’s quite depressing which is why I’m so happy and glad that the bookshop came to us.

I have to say that I’ve started reading Simon VS The HSA and I couldn’t put it down. It took effort to do so just so I can write this post. I’ve been eager to read it because the movie trailer (Love, Simon) was totally adorable. Also, because I have this thing about movie tie-ins where I have to read the books first before watching the movie. I’m a quick reader and I usually finish a novel in about 2 hours. But as I got older, I prefer to slow down a little and just enjoy the book at a slower pace because sometimes I just don’t want it to be over so soon. I just love the feeling in that moment when you begin reading a book and you’re just immersed in this new world or story. It’s precious and I always reminisce about the feeling I get when I first read a book that I would soon fall in love with. Sometimes I wish that I can un-read a book just so I can feel that way again.

I don’t really have a genre that I specifically like but I like a lot young adult books. Most of the books that I read are on the bestsellers list and I like movie tie-ins as well. It’s a shame that not all adapted screenplays are well received but all least they tried.

So, look out for some book reviews coming your way soon!
